| We just made it.. and what an adventure it has been while you all snored happily (eh? human snores are terrible noisy but while they snored, we kept digging and digging! Hehehehe they never heard us! I don't know who this mysterious "Scottie" is but we think he works for Bernard Matthews. Devious little devil, promised us Best Of Corn but then slammed the door shut behind us! We were trapped in a pitchblack dungeon and now and then they threw some food down the skylatch. Everybody scraping and scratching for a morsel. It was all Dandy's fault really, he fell in love with a pink 'turkey' and wouldn't listen to me that this was a Flamingo and certainly not Grace and I had to blindfold him so that he would dig for his love... the tunnel underneath the fence quickly got longer and longer. Why Bernard Matthew kept a flamingo I never stopped to find out. They even took my bagpipes away because they said I was a 'rabble rouser'...... me? MOI? I sent text messages to Charlie (the chap in Ireland with whom I have shared many a good Guiness) and he sent me a manual on how to dig under fences... really! Aaaah but he smuggled in a spade! God bless good old Charlie! Knowing Dandy, he is on his way to Grace........... he looks a bit thin but he did shovel hard! All being said, it WAS the Great Escape....... I could never have stood the (oven) heat and by the way, I managed to steal my bagpipes back (office door was not locked and hehehe I took their ham sandwiches and a bottle of the finest Whiskey) and I am practising for a Biiiiiig Old Lang Syne! Told that nasty little Scottie to be "goon a long". And to think we nearly never made it but there is no getting rid of us turkeys! We are the Champions and I don't care boasting on a forum! Now then, where is my bottle of Whitchkey and some food? Trevor |

| Meanwhile, about a mile down the road, Faith awaits, in the getaway car....She had to hide it in the bushes, as the guards kept patrolling the perimeter....stumbling in the snow, she sees the Dandy, all dressed in pink, even pink high heeled boots, heading her way....not far behind comes Trevor, toting those bagpipes....but there's a problem.....their footprints can be easily followed, in the snow....so they trudge on rather hastily....trying to avoid the spotlights and the guard tower.... |

| Driving down the backroads away from the guards, the engine of Faith's old rickety car started to sputter then stopped....frustrated, and worried, she didn't know what to do...on board were to escapees, and a trunk of bootleg booze. All seemed lost, when out of nowhere, came Saira, and her SUV, along with her good buddy "Arthur"....Saira rolled down the window and said: "hop in". The sirens were blaring, the guards with the search dogs were hot on their trail....Saira stepped on the gas, and plowed through a snow covered cornfield, knowing the guards in their gas guzzling cars couldn't follow.... |

| Keith got wind of the great escape, and came to see if he could offer help....on his way, he came across a posse, looking for the escapees....they searched Keith's car, but found nothing...the hounds couldn't find a scent, so they let him move on....but aha, Keith got to thinking, if he was Trevor, what would he do? Why take a backroad of course....so Keith backtracks and finds tire tracks in the snow....he follows and comes across an abandoned car hidden with tree branches...hmm, must be a plan of Trevor's hide the car.... As he trudges on, he finds new tracks, and decides to follow....about three miles down the road, he comes upon a strange sight....Trevor, Dandy, Faith, Saira, and "Arthur", all singing and dancing a jig....mindless of the falling snow... |

| Michelle was home, with her radio on, when a breaking news report came over the air. There was an escape from the dungeon at daybreak......it seems two turkeys, a case of whiskey, a pair of bagpipes, and the warden's wife's pink fur coat was missing too. Law enforcement said they were aided in their escape and that all involved would be apprehended. Michelle goes to the phone to call all lurkers.....then runs out the door to her car for the long drive to the new Canine Cottage, home of all lurkers. Someone brings out a radio to keep tabs on the escape.... Surprise, even the hounds are cheering on the escapees.... |

| Yeehawwwwww says Grace, as she hears the news...soon her Dandy will be coming back to her. Gee, I sure hope whoever is helping them get here soon....I wonder what's taking so long....suddenly, Grace's cell phone rings. "Is that a fact?" "Really?"
All the other lurkers gather around, waiting for the news....
"Attention, everyone," said Grace.....that was Keith on the phone....he has come across the culprits in a snowcovered cornfield, and what a sight....it was really cold, and only the Dandy had a coat, (the fur coat), so to keep warm, they decided to tip the bottle a bit....they overdid it a bit....Keith found them dancing a jig and he said none were able to drive, so he took over, and are bringing them back here.....
Grace smiles thinking: Oh that Dandy, he is a great cross dresser..... |

| Meanwhile, CarrieLynn and some of the boys go and retrieve Faith's rickety old car hidden in that field. Trying at the same time, to avoid the watchful eyes of the search party.
Luckily we were successful, and towed it back to the old barn on River Road, just a mile down the road from the new cottage....
A new problem arose.....we got a call stating that "Arthur" was being a pain to Saira, complaining all the time during the drive home....out in the cold made the aches and pains worse....Trevor, wise as he is, passed the jug around, to warm the old bones....hiccup, Saira feels much better now.
How wonderful of Keith, to take charge, and drive them home...
Alas, poor Grace....she is so love sick over the Dandy, and can't wait for his return, afterall, he still has her pink chiffon dress.....
And where is our Gwen, but missing all of the excitement....hmm, in that larder again? lol

| Rebecca tossed Gwen some cream puffs and she is keeping that lazy co manager occupied, while the escape is in motion.....you know how lazy gets....any trouble and she raises the roof....and lurkers pay.....
I have to hand it to Faith, she was pretty crafty, when Trevor sent the sos, he asked for one of the boys, but Faith went instead....that was very brave of her...too bad she never made sure there was gas in the tank...
Charlie, you are a hero....you took a lot of chances sending a manual on how to dig a tunnel....don't ever let lazy know you are that crafty, or she will be watching you...
Keith, you are a hero.....you put a lot on the line here to bring our wayward turkeys home...you are much appreciated...too bad lazy can't see it....
Grace dear, get down off the table, Dandy will be here soon....
Poor sweet, Saira....too bad "Arthur" is such a pain, but you have to remember, booze and driving don't mix....it's a wonder you made it to that cornfield without any accidents....

| Eileen, the thinking lurker came with food for all lurkers awaiting the return of our wayward souls. Seems Bossman and Lazy were too cheap to think of feeding the hungry mouths. The hounds were standing guard, watching out for the posse in case they headed our way. Spike was at the ready, aboard Mabel's back, searching up and down the road. Smart idea to start, placing the new cottage in the country....no neighbors nearby, to report us or turn in what we do....now it's up to the hounds and Lazy to do all the work keeping us in line. Hmm, bring out the woolies for Saira and Arthur, and build a fire in the fireplace to keep our travelors warm....my hats off to Charles, you did good boy..... Get it? Charlieboy....oh I love it.. Psst, is that lazy sleeping through all the excitement? I sure hope so....or we might catch it for taking part in the escape....Grace dear, get ready....you may have to distract the posse if they come our way.... |

| Tony, brave soul he is, stands by the gate, waiting to slam it shut when time calls.....then he runs for cover...
If there's anything this new lurker has learned, one mustn't disturb the sleep of one lazy co manager....

| The escapees finally arrive at their destination, and all lurkers on the night shift come to duty. It's up to us, to hide them when the posse comes. Hmm, Lazy hasn't filled the larder, so it's up to Beth to restock....then she will send her the bill.... Saira came inside, to warm here weary bones, and passed out in front of the fire.....Dandy is the parlour with one very happy Grace....at last check, both were discussing the latest "pink" winter fashion.... The boys filled Faith's gas tank and she is on her merry way home.... Chicken Tony is nowhere to be found....I think I hear Mary calling.... So I shall grab a hot cup of cocoa, and sit in Lazy's favorite chair by the fire, and perhaps settle in for a nice warm winter nap. |

He couldn't play bagpipes if he were paid! And I want to sleep! <groan - now who blame for snoring...... not a snore emits from my beak! But Dandy is dreadful......... poor Grace, she will need ear mufflers. How do you think we escaped????????????? Trevor |

If it weren't for us lurkers, you turkeys would still be in that dungeon...my hats off to Charles for all he did, but he should have thought to muzzle you lot.....gobble gobble....snicker snicker.... |
