Personally I think it doesn't matter what sex the dog is provided, the owner has the personality and the patience! Training consists of repetitive patience. Being firm but kind. Dogs will eventually realize that they 'can please' and it is in the dogs' nature to please!
Come to think of it but I always had male dogs, pick of the litter I could say.

I knew Emma (JRX) and she was by far the most obedient dog I would have loved to have myself. She was a comical looking dog, one ear up and one down was her trademark, but she hated to be left alone (would howl) and that's how I became a dogsitter whenever hexie had to go out on her own. I always said, Emma was too clever!
