Yes, if you want to end up with a solid, bombproof result, you have to break it down into steps that the dog can easily understand, just like with children. You can't expect them to learn algebra without understanding the concept of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing first.
If I were able to work with her several times a day, progression would be much quicker, but I'm limited by my full time job, so I'm only able to work with her once,
sometimes twice a day. I try to keep the sessions short enough so that she doesn't get bored or frustrated, but long enough so that whatever we're working on can take root in her brain.
I know these videos are far from exciting, but I think it's fun to share the progress.
Oh, and I should be getting a new video recorder in the mail today, so my videos will be a lot better from here on out! I'm so excited!
