I haven't posted recently on Canine Cottage; it's been very hectic. I have decided to request donations for Hunny, one of the rescue
shepherds I recently took in. She has a congenital heart defect, and goes to the
vet on Wednesday 8/19/09 for an X-ray of her heart and for a complete blood
panel. He (the vet) recommended an ECG last year to her previous
owners, but they never had
one done. She may need surgery to repair her heart, and the cost could
be a couple of thousand dollars. The visit on Wednesday, alone, will be
more than $300.
While I do have a little bit of a cushion in place for rescue dogs, I
do not have thousands of dollars set aside for them yet.
