The Los Angeles City Council has given preliminary approval to an ordinance that would ban the declawing of cats. The unanimous vote Friday follows a similar action by the Beverly Hills City Council a day earlier. A final vote in both cities is expected Nov. 17. She has a congenital heart defect, and goes to the vet on Wednesday 8/19/09 for an X-ray of her heart and for a complete blood panel. He (the vet) recommended an ECG last year to her previous owners, but they never had one done. She may need surgery to repair her heart, and the cost could be a couple of thousand dollars. ...
