DURAMINE 'DAPPi+LC is the first of a new generation of canine vaccines from Fort Dodge, Animal Health, providing immunity against parvovirus, hepatitis, distemper, parainfluenza, leptospriosis and, for the first time in the UK, including protection against coronavirus.
Diarrhoea caused by coronavirus can be moderate to explosive and may last for up to the days.
The faeces are usually foul smelling, yellow-orange and may contain blood and mucus.
Andrew Little MRCVS, Veterinary Advisor at Fort Dodge Animal Health, says:
"Coronavirus can also leave dogs more susceptible to other infectious diseases.
"Haemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE) can be caused by a variety of different infections, parvovirus being perhaps the best known.
"What has only recently become apparent is that the consequences of these infections become more serious when coronavirus is also involved. Typically, if left untreated these 'dual infections' can quickly lead to the death of the affected dog.
Recent reporrts have highlighted cases of parvovirus and HGE in several
locations reminding us that these diseases are still circulating.
This provides a further compelling reason to do everything possible to protect our dogs against coronavirus infection."
